Manchester football top 300 recruit Brown has busy June ahead of him

MIDLOTHIAN, Va. (BVM) — As a top-300 recruit, one could expect a busy schedule especially when that recruit is still mulling offers prior to their final prep season. However, what Manchester High School junior running back Ramon Brown is trying to pull off this June isn’t busy, it is straight hectic.

Currently ranked as the No. 128 recruit in the ESPN 300 for the Class of 2022, Brown is highly sought after with 14 Division I offers. After official visits to schools have been nearly eradicated since last year, prospective student-athletes have had to work their way through virtual visits, Zoom meetings and other forms of recruitment to replace those visits. However, with things slowly beginning to reopen, Class of 2022 recruits are given the chance to make these visits in the near future and Brown is taking advantage of that, with at least four official visits to Division I football programs this June.

The four programs that Brown confirmed he will be visiting during the month are Maryland, Penn State, South Carolina and West Virginia, while the athlete has also posted about an official visit to Virginia Tech, he has not released the dates he would be at the campus.

It will be a whirlwind month for Brown as he will begin his visits with West Virginia from June 4-6 before immediately heading to Columbia, S.C. to visit the Gamecocks program from June 7-9. There will be a slight reprieve for Brown as he won’t head to Happy Valley, home of the Penn State Nittany Lions, until June 11 where he will be until June 13. He will then have his biggest break in the month, for now, when he finishes his official visits in the month with his trip to Maryland from June 25-27. Again, it could be even crazier if he does visit his in-state Hokies during the month as well and there is still plenty of time for the star junior to add to his schedule.

For the Division I programs recruiting him, they are more than happy to fill his schedule with in-person visits because they know a player of Brown’s caliber can be a game changer. This season, Brown led the Lancers to a 6-1 record while rushing for 871 yards and scoring 14 total touchdowns. Though his season ended abruptly with a forfeited final game due to COVID-19, the 6-foot, 205-pound Brown quickly turned his attention to his recruitment so he can make the best decision.

These official visits will certainly play a role in his impending decision. Though it may be a bit crazy, this is what needs to be done in order for Brown to make the right decision for himself and his future.
