Old Town off to undefeated softball start

OLD TOWN, Maine (BVM) — The Old Town Coyotes are off to an undefeated start in their 2021 softball season under first-year head coach Morgin Cossar. With a win against Mount Desert Island (MDI), the Coyotes are 4-0 to start their season.

The group, led by seniors Abbie Roy, Miranda Leclair, Reagan Glidden and Hannah Sirois, has helped push the Coyotes out to their hot start with their recent 5-3 win coming over MDI. Without a season last year, the current Coyotes group hasn’t had much varsity experience prior to the year. The new Coyotes coach has had the opportunity to play a variety of different players, with a game early on that saw 14 different players touch the field.

The newest Old Town head coach has had a seamless transition to her new team helping them out to one of the school’s best starts. After taking over for Jenn Plourde, who helped lead the Coyotes to a 131-20 record throughout her tenure, Cossar is hoping to replicate the team’s prior success.

Old Town will get its next opportunity to increase its record to 5-0 against Bangor, after the game was originally rescheduled.
