Tully freshman makes history in first career start

TULLY, N.Y. (BVM) — Everything fell in place for Tully freshman Zeke Mohat to have an almost perfect night in his first high school start. A late change of action pushed Mohat into the starting pitching spot and the freshman wouldn’t disappoint.

Joined by freshman batterymate Will Lund, Mohat tossed six no-hit frames, while striking out 10 in the Black Knights matchup against Onondaga earlier this week. The spot start wouldn’t prove to be too big for the Black Knights’ freshman who made quick work of the Tigers lineup, putting them down on just 74 pitches while allowing no walks. Only three Onondaga hitters were able to reach base, all coming via errors.

The Black Knights would also get production on the offensive side, led by senior infielder Joe Murray who tallied three hits and senior shortstop Adam Spath who added two hits in the team’s 10-0 win. The victory over the Tigers puts Tully at 2-1 on the season as they look to top the Patriot American division.

The Black Knights will look to build off the freshman’s spectacular performance in an upcoming matchup against Pulaski.
