Burns, who played safety for the Bulldogs this past season, entered the transfer portal back on May 3. During his short stint with the Bulldogs, he played in three games, making five tackles (three solo tackles).
Before making his decision to attend Georgia, Burns played his high school ball at Madison Prep where he was regarded as the fourth-best player in the state of Louisiana and was ranked 79th in ESPN’s Top 300.
With Burns committing to the Tigers, he becomes the fourth overall safety to join this LSU class. He joins Sage Ryan, Derrick Davis Jr., and Matthew Langlois.
The Tigers really needed to address the safety position after JaCoby Stevens left for the NFL Draft and Marurice Hampion Jr. entered his name into the transfer portal.
It’s an exciting time for the Louisiana native and the LSU Tiger program. The season kicks off on Sept. 4 and the LSU defense should be ready to go as they look to capture another SEC Championship.
