Ursuline girls lacrosse continues win streak
NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. (BVM) — After a slow start to the girls lacrosse season, Ursuline has now rattled off seven straight wins, as the Koalas continue to prove themselves as one of the top teams in the section. With the Koalas’ recent win, the team showcased its ability to play from behind.
After Greeley hopped out to a 10-4 lead, the Koalas would have to claw their way back into the game during the second half, scoring six straight goals to even the game back up at 10. The heroics from Ursuline would be helped out by senior Amelia Ricciuti, who racked up five goals and one assist in the Koalas’ 12-11 comeback victory over the Quakers.
Ricciuti has been a difference maker for the Koalas, as she looks to close off her Ursuline career on a high note before heading off to Villanova. The long-time midfielder has been a part of the varsity team since the eighth grade and has been a consistent force in the Koalas’ impressive season.
Ursuline will look for its eighth straight victory in an upcoming matchup against Eastchester, who they beat 16-4 earlier in the season.
