The 6-foot-2 guard played in 15 games for San Jose State last season, starting in two, and averaged 9.6 points per game on 35.4 shooting from 3-point range. Dalcourt reached double figures in scoring six different times, including his SJSU debut when he scored 23 points against Boise State.
“Jalen is a Lafayette native who will take pride in wearing the Ragin’ Cajuns’ uniform,” Louisiana head coach Bob Marlin said in a press release. “He is a competitive and skilled guard who brings a wealth of experience to our program. We are excited to have him and his family in the Ragin’ Cajuns program.”
Prior to his arrival in San Jose, Dalcourt played at a pair of junior colleges. He averaged 10.6 points at Iowa Western Community College in 2019-20 after averaging 11.1 points and 4.1 rebounds as a freshman at Tallahassee Community College. The former Lafayette High star averaged 27 points, 10 rebounds and four assists as a high school senior.
Dalcourt is one of three Division I newcomers to the Ragin’ Cajuns’ program, joining another Lafayette native in Greg Williams, Jr. (St. John’s) and Jordan Brown (Arizona).
