Two WestConn men’s lacrosse players to lace up for NEILA East-West Senior All-Star Game

DANBURY, Conn. (BVM) — The New England Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (NEILA) 2021 East-West Senior All-Star Game will be played on June 4 at Roger Williams University in Bristol, Rhode Island.

Twenty-six players from the West will face off against 26 players from the East for the ultimate title. Players from across all NCAA divisions in the New England region were considered. Two players from Western Connecticut State University were selected to play to represent the West team: attacker Eric Caldwell and defenseman Sean Yorke.

“This is a great opportunity to highlight the college careers of these young men,” Tim Murphy, coordinator of the East-West All-Star team selection said in a press release. “For many, it is one last time for them to play an organized game against such high competition. It is also a chance to compete with players you may have battled against throughout your college career.”

Caldwell and Yorke will play on the West team with lacrosse players from schools including UMass, Hartford and Fairfield. The West team will be coached by Daniel Thomas (Clark), Eric Johnson (Eastern Connecticut State) and Rich Bernasconi (Salve Regina).
