Dacula alum, Dunham, pushing for the Olympics
DACULA, Ga. (BVM) — Dacula Falcons continue to do big things across the country post-graduation, and Bradley Dunham is doing some of the biggest. The premier swimmer competed in the U.S. Swimming Olympic Trials this past weekend, representing his Georgia Bulldogs and SwimAtlanta.
Dunham earned this opportunity through the impressive resume he has built in Athens. The redshirt sophomore has already set a school record in his short time there as a member of the 800 freestyle relay team. Dunham is also top 10 in school history in three other events. His fingerprints are all over the Georgia history books with plenty of time to spare in his college career.
The event he competed in for Wave I of the Olympic Trials was the 200m backstroke, with the top two finishers advancing to Wave II. Unfortunately, Dunham fell just short of this marker, taking third place with a time of 2:00.96, just off of the runner-up who finished with a 2:00.11.
Fortunately for Dunham, he has a couple years left with the Bulldogs to continue improving and, hopefully, have another Olympic run in him when they next roll around.
