Rockwall softball falls to Converse Judson after program-best season

ROCKWALL, Texas — After a season topped off with pointing the entirety of their work towards the shared objective of making it to the state competition, the Rockwall Lady Yellowjackets softball team prepared for a clash in the University Interscholastic League Class 6A State Semifinal against Converse Judson on Friday evening.

Rockwall took advantage of its flexibility over and over on its run to the school’s first-ever state tournament appearance. Against a top-10 team in the country, nonetheless, the jacket fight that never bites the dust — a well know mantra at the school — wouldn’t be sufficient.

Rockwall won 30 of its last 34 games to make the state tournament. Waiting for Rockwall was quite possibly the most predominant teams in the country. Judson entered the 6A state semifinal 34-2 and showed why right away.

Converse Judson was able to score three runs in the first inning, and after that, they never looked back, beating Rockwall 6-2 in the 6A state semifinal at Glenn High School in Leander, Texas.

The season ends in the state semifinals Rockwall after a loss to Converse Judson. Though a short appearance in the playoffs, the team will be remembered for its historic first appearance in the state tournament.
