Charlotte 49ers baseball season ends with a regional loss
CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The incredible journey and season for the Charlotte 49ers baseball team finally ended with a loss in the NCAA’s Greenville Regional. Maryland beat Charlotte 2-1 allowing the Terrapins to advance to the Greenville Regional final, leaving the 49ers behind.
Overall, it was quite an incredible season for the 49ers, with 40 wins in total. Moreover, another amazing outcome of this season was the brilliant record-tying 11-game win streak that brought huge fame and praise for the team. However, Coach Robert Woodard was happy and pleased with the overall performance of the team.
In his words, he did hate the outcome, but the overall performance was nothing short of a miracle. The team deserved every win, and the season finale was an unpredicted event.
This group moved the needle.
And they did it the right way. Clean cut, and fiercely competitive.
Thank you Niner Nation for your passion, support and energy.

The team was able to take the program to new heights of glory in over a decade, and it will go down in books as one of the best performances from the first pitch to the last game.
