Hough High’s unbeaten baseball team
CORNELIUS, N.C. – The Hough High School baseball team takes pride in not losing a game in over 759 days. According to the talented coach Jimmy Cochran, the team continuously strives to bring home victories and not losing a game in over two years has given them a moral boost to stay on top.
However, the majority of this long-running victory stance comes due to canceled games during the pandemic season. The Huskies only played four games in total in the last year and this helped them maintain their overall streak.
With a 10-0 romp over Vance, the Huskies were able to wrap up a perfect season with over two years of unbeaten records. What made this an amazing season is that this was the first-ever unbeaten campaign in the last 11 years for Huskies. Now, the Huskies are advancing to playoffs for the North Carolina High School Athletic Association. According to the team coach, the team will continue to perform and maintain its winning streak. The team is well-rounded and offers a diverse set of players to bring home the wins.
Huskies’ leading scorer, junior Andrew Schuldt, currently boasts a .484 batting average and an on-base percentage of .620. This goes to show the prowess of the team, and other players also bring something unique to the table. Fans will wait and watch to see if the team can continue its streak or loses everything for the first time in two years.
