DSHA girls soccer ready for state tournament
MILWAUKEE (BVM) — The WIAA Division 1 girls soccer state tournament begins Thursday and No. 1-seeded DSHA is ready to leave with a better finish than its last trip to the state tournament.
The Dashers entered the 2019 state tournament as the No. 3 seed and beat Bay Port 1-0 to advance to the finals where they lost to Muskego 2-1.
This season DSHA has been playing phenomenally going 15-1 overall and 8-0 in conference play. It was their second straight Greater Metro Conference title but this time it was theirs outright rather than sharing it with Brookfield Central and Germantown as they did in 2019.
In postseason play, the Dashers made quick work of their opponents, not conceding a goal until the sectional semifinals in which they beat Brookfield East 5-1. Then in the sectional championship they beat Appleton 7-2.
DSHA will play Kenosha Bradford/Reuther on Thursday with hopes of advancing once again to the championship game but this time with a more favorable outcome.
