TAMPA, Fla. — When Caelan Jones graduated from Cambridge High School this past May, he left a trail blazing with his accomplishments. This track and field star broke three school records his senior year, including the 400-meter dash, 300-meter hurdles, and the 4 X 4 relay. He is also the region champion in those three races as well.

“My mom said I should try track and field and I just fell in love with it,” says Caelan.

Caelan credits his success to working hard during work-outs and the support of his coach and track family.

His track and field Coach, Reggie Brown, gave him some of his best advice, “nothing is given to you and you have to work hard for what you want,” says Caelan.

This fall, Caelan plans to attend Kennesaw State University and walk on to the track team. During the pandemic, he picked up a new hobby and started sewing streetwear clothes. At KSU he plans to turn his hobby into a business with a degree in entrepreneurship and start a clothing and shoe business when he graduates.

When he’s not running or sewing, you can find this Atlanta native at his favorite restaurant, the Waffle House, or dining on crab legs!
