High expectations for Dance Mania with multiple Dance Worlds competition gold medals

MELBOURNE, Fla. — Dance Mania is coming off a very successful Dance Worlds Championships held in May at ESPN’s Wide World of Sports in Orlando. This is the largest and most prestigious event in the all-star dance industry and one that teams from around the globe work towards all season long. More than 3500 dance athletes compete in this event and they are all aiming to earn the world champion titles in their categories. This is considered the “Super Bowl” of dance, and teams must qualify at a premier national championship earlier in the season.

The company sent the following teams made up of 13-18 year old athletes to the Dance Worlds Competition and they came home with the following titles:

  • Dance Mania Allstars, Senior Lyrical- Gold
  • Senior Jazz Small- Gold
  • Senior Pom Small- Gold
  • Senior Pom Large- Gold
  • Senior Jazz Large- Bronze

That is 4 World Champion titles and 1 Bronze! This is an amazing accomplishment!

Dana Parsons, owner and head instructor of Dance Mania says, “I really feel that our teams this year were made up of the perfect recipe of talented athletes, creative staff, choreographers, music composers, and outstanding costumes. The members that make up these teams are extremely driven, goal-oriented, committed, and ever so talented. I knew going into this season, these teams had something special and with the right guidance, teamwork, and passion, they could achieve their goals and bring home a world championship title.”

Dance Mania is not just about dance, but more than that. The dancers are taught life lessons, morals, and values that they will take with them for a lifetime. The goal is to create champions on and off the floor and set the dancers up to be successful not just in dance but in everyday life. They are taught time management, responsibility, accountability, and are guided through college scholarships and the college dance team recruitment process. Parsons says, “All of the dancers that are raised through our program are well-rounded, well-adjusted, and successful human beings.”

Many different levels of participation are offered at the studio from recreational to local competing, elite level, and year-round. The dance worlds teams train for about 6 months and then compete for about 5 months, attending about 7 competitions or performances leading up to The Dance Worlds Championships.

Beginning of June, new teams were forming for the season. However, if you missed the auditions, give them a call. The teams do fill quickly, so if competing is the goal, contact Dance Mania as soon as possible. Parsons says, “If you are unsure about the commitment level or competition world, we invite you to FREE trial classes, attend summer camps, and check out the mid-season teams. We have something for EVERYONE at Dance Mania!”
