Martin County North’s 12U All-Star Team to participate in Little League World Series

PALM CITY, Fla. — They’re going to Williamsport! Martin County North’s 12U All-Star Team will live out every young ballplayer’s dream on Friday, Aug. 20 when they begin their Little League World Series journey in Williamsport, Pennsylvania.

The baseball team from Palm City, Florida beat out hundreds of teams in the state and thousands more across the country and around the world. According to Little League’s website, more than 6,500 communities in upwards of 80 countries participate in youth baseball and softball programs.

In the regional tournament earlier this month, the team won 3 of 4 games, good enough to clinch a spot in the Little League World Series. In their three wins, the team scored a combined 17 runs while allowing just three.

Frankie Brancaleone was the team’s standout player. He pitched in two of the team’s three wins, striking out a total of eight batters and allowing just one run over a combined 10 innings. At the plate, Brancaleone had one double, one triple, and 3 RBIs.

The team will be representing the state of Florida on youth baseball’s biggest stage. Their first game is Aug. 20 at 3 p.m. ET against Michigan’s Taylor North Little League. The game will be broadcast live on ESPN.
