Salesian High School celebrates the life of Eric Mobley
NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. — It was a hard time for the Salesian organization when they received the news about the passing of legendary alumnus Eric Mobley. He was known as one of the greatest players to attend Salesian high school.
Eric Mobley died on June 2, 2021, from cancer. He was selected by the Milwaukee Bucks in the first round of the 1994 draft from Allegany Community College. Mobley enjoyed a 3-year career in the National Basketball Association before his career was cut short by injuries.
Mobley made 113 appearances in the NBA and averaged 3.9 points, 3.1 rebounds, 0.5 blocks, 0.2 steals, and 0.5 assists per game. He was known as the ‘’Big E’’ during his time in the NBA. He served as an inspiration to many students at Salesian and all over the country.
The Big E shall be remembered as a great man that achieved so many great things. His legacy lives on in the students at Salesian who continue to emulate him.
