Dacula Falcons defeat the Tucker Tigers
DACULA, Ga. (BVM) — The Corky Kell Classic tournament had exciting matchups last weekend, but few were as entertaining as the game between the Falcons and the Tucker Tigers.
The game kicked off late by an hour and a half after lightning delayed the previous match between Archer and Westlake. The Falcons managed to win 37-0 at home in their first game of the season. Coach Casey Vogt was happy with this performance late in the wee hours of the night. It was his first win as the Falcons head coach. He will be looking for more wins as the season progresses.
Kyle Efford gave Dacula the lead on a four-yard touchdown in the first quarter that ended 6-0. Tucker struggled with high snaps that led to eight first-half fumbles, two of which were lost. Because of Tucker’s offensive struggles, the Dacula Falcons only had 97 first-half yards and five first downs. Their defense played well. Jayden Bethea had four tackles for losses in the first half.
Barry Manning finally got Tucker on the board in the fourth quarter. Amir Streeter set him up for an 83-yard touchdown pass. Dacula rushed for only 49 yards in the game. Dacula quarterback Jamir Beckhom got 75 yards passing on 6 of 11 attempts.
The Falcons played well on both sides of the field, with their impressive defense clinching the win in the end. They face Brookward at home in week two of the season.
