Dow Chargers tear down Fenton at the Big House

ANN ARBOR, Mich. (BVM) — In a crazy game at Michigan Stadium on Aug. 27 at noon, Dow ran circles around their opponent Fenton, hammering them 43-14 in front of a large crowd of mixed supporters.

It was a big win for Dow after admitting to feeling jittery when coming into the game. Fenton took the lead early within three minutes of the first quarter after a few mishaps by Dow. But the Chargers went on a crazy streak, scoring 29 straight points taking the lead, and effectively winning the game while it was still going on.

Fenton’s Seth Logan passed to Sam Claborn, who made a nice diving catch for the first TD of the game. But Zack Parker scored an 84-yard TD run, and Landen Miller made the first of his three PATs to equalize the score in the first quarter. The Tigers scored the last points heading into halftime after a 13-Yard TD pass from Logan to Claborn, cutting Dow’s lead to 29-14.

Kholtz scored on an 18-yard TD run to make it 36-14 in the third quarter. Bakus then forced his way into the end zone from a yard out to effectively finish the game. Fenton struggled offensively for most of the game, owing to Dawson Studebaker and Aidan Wardell, who led Dow’s pass rush and run defense.

Dow is now 1-0 heading to Flint Carman-Ainsworth on Thursday for their second game.
