Zeeland East varsity gets first win of the season against Warren Woods Tower

ZEELAND, Mich. (BVM) — In the first game of the season, Chix football faced the Titans of Warren Woods Tower, comfortably winning 45-14.

Zeeland was up 7-0 at the end of the first quarter. Cebe Hunderman extended their lead to 14-0 after a 79-yard run in the second quarter. Westra scored a 27-yard FG to put Chix up 17-8 at halftime. It was a Chix night, and there was nothing the Titans could do.

Max Cochran scored two touchdowns in the third quarter to extend Zeeland’s lead to 31-14. Cebe Hunderman was the offensive pillar in the game with 16 carries for 196 yards, a 47-yard punt return, and two TDs.

Max Cochran and Brady White also played great on offense. They had 87 yards, two TDs, and ten carries for 74 yards, respectively. Junior Nick Williams led the Chix defense with 12 tackles. Chris Seay also played well with nine tackles and one fumble recovery.

It was a great night for Zeeland football over on the East side as both JV and Varsity teams got the win.
