INDIANAPOLIS — The American Basketball Association (ABA) today announced that the Triangle Shooters will join the league in November 2022 and will be located in Williamsburg, Virginia.

“We are very pleased to have Kenya Williams and his wife Demetria as part of the ABA,” stated ABA CEO. “They have a terrific background in sports and business and should be very successful on and off the court.”

A native of Hopewell VA, Kenya studied math and science at Frederick College where he learned auto servicing technology. He then received his AA degree in General Studies at Old Dominion University; his BS in Mechanical Engineering which led to his becoming a Nuclear Engineer at Huntington Ingalls Industry. He also received his Masters degree from University of Phoenix. Kenya currently owns iShine for You Auto Detailing and Upgradez Auto & Worth Automotive.

“Demetria and I are really looking forward to the challenge of owning a professional basketball team,” added Williams. “The ABA is very popular in the Tidewater area going all the way back to when Dr. J played for the Virginia Squires in the original ABA. We hope to bring back some of that magic.”
