Moses Lake girls soccer outlasts Cashmere
SEATTLE — The girls soccer game between Moses Lake and Cashmere started with Cashmere being on a lead. Kaitlyn Bjorklund smacked the ball straight into the net as she struggled to dribble between the opponents.
Cashmere Head Coach Dennis Tronson said, “I liked her possession and movement in the first half.”
This lead gave the advantage to the Cashmere, but then Moses Lake gained an equalizer at 25 minutes, and then Kaitlyn suffered an injury, and it was a significant loss as she was the central part of the team.
At this point, Moses Lake got the advantage and scored two goals in the first half. Because the girls were trying to cover Kaitlyn’s injury and this led to a significant loss to them.
On the other hand, Moses Lake continued their strength throughout the match and scored two penalty kicks before the game was over.
Tronson believed that they could do better but needed a tiny bit of adjustment.
Tronson said, “I told them Bunch was going to be a handful. She created a lot of havoc for us. Those are things that we have to adjust to. But Ava Courtney had a great second half in between the pipes. We got a little too anxious and direct when it was 4-2. When you play a 4A game, you have to step up your game.”
Cashmere is playing Ephrata this Saturday at 1:00 pm.
