Imani Williamson and her great performance in women’s volleyball at Savannah State University

SAVANNAH, Ga. — Imani Williamson plays for Savannah State University and has become one of the most recognized volleyball players in the United States.  In 2021, Williamson and the SSU volleyball seniors were named the SIAC’s first team.

She has been a great athlete from a very young age, and thanks to her perseverance, she entered the Lady Tigers Volleyball team. Every day, Imani Williamson continues her dominance on the court. For the 2019 season, Williamson ranked third on her team with 104 kills overall.

Besides playing volleyball, this young woman also participates in school and sat on the Leadership Council at O’Fallon High School. She wants to continue her academic and college career alongside her favorite sport.

At the Metro-East Classic Tournament, she received the honors of the All-Tournament team, in which the Tigers achieved first place in the silver division. Senior Imani Williamson also had the highest ace percentage with staggering 20.2% during the tournament.

She plays for the Lady Tigers Volleyball in the outside hitter position. Williamson is an athlete who plays with passion and uses athleticism to help her teammates on the court, and she is an excellent contribution to the team’s success.

Imani has helped the Tigers to a record of 21-4. Williamson has a great performance on the court, but she wants to keep improving to succeed in the playoffs. Williamson and other Savannah State University women’s volleyball seniors were named the 2021 Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference season first team.

Imani is a great player for head coach Melissa Massey and has made rapid progress as a player and leader. She claims she has become a player who can push her team to do a better job on the court.

On March 31, the Lady Tigers opened the schedule at Tiger Arena against Benedict College. In the Lady Tigers team’s first year in the SIAC, they improved, obtaining the No. 4 seed in the East division.

On Sept. 9, Savannah State University women’s volleyball opened the 2021 season at Tiger Arena. That night, the Savannah State University team had fans in the stands for the first time since March 10, 2020. The Lady Tigers started the season 1-0 with a 3-0 victory over Brewton-Parker. It was very pleasant and rewarding for Williamson to see and feel the crowd again at the games.

Imani Williamson has a great future in sports, and at a young age, she has been recognized as one of the best athletes in the United States. For the rest of the season, Imani and the coach have high expectations.
