Mendham High girls shock No. 14 Chatham field hockey

MENDHAM, N.J. —  The Mendham Minutemen stunned the ranked Chatham Lady Cougars Saturday evening.

The Minutemen scored twice in the fourth period to overcome the 2-1 deficit. They scored when it mattered the most and pulled off the upset and comeback on the Cougars. Ultimately, they won the game 3-2 knocking off the No. 14-ranked field hockey team in the state, per NJ.com.

Sophomores Kate Villoresi and Sophia Cardella each chipped in with a goal and an assist each in the big-time win over Chatham. Not to mention, both seniors Kate Chittenden also pitched in with a score of her own, and Angelina Quinn had five huge saves on the day to help the Minutemen surmount this comeback. Although juniors Brooke DiBiase and Elizabeth Yarcheski scored for Chatham it was not enough in the end.

Mendham advances to 3-1 on the year while Chatham falls to 3-1.
