Perry High football holds off Jackson High School, 21-20
MASSILLON, Ohio — On Thursday, September 16th, the Jackson Polar Bears went head to head against Perry Panthers at Perry home field. The first quarter ended with Perry having the lead, with a score of 7-0. Jackson answered back by scoring a touchdown, but unfortunately not being able to score the extra point. Perry scored yet another touchdown returning the punt, to end the first half with a score of 14-6.
The second half of the game was rather interesting, to say the least. The fourth quarter drew cheers from both sides of the stadium. The last five minutes of the game were very heated. Jackson was not willing to give up on this game just yet. Making a touchdown and going for a 2 point conversion, and scoring, tying the score 14-14. With only a few minutes left, Perry was able to score, carrying the ball over 60 yards, getting them back in the lead with a score of 21-14. The game wasn’t over. With a little less than 3 minutes left in the game, Jackson turns around and runs over 50 yards to score another touchdown. Perry was able to hold the bears and beat them with a score of 21-20.
