Garfield Bulldogs football wins 58-0 against Davis High School
SEATTLE — The Garfield Bulldogs football team played against Davis High School at Memorial Stadium, Saturday afternoon. The weather wasn’t great on the day, so the competition was delayed, but the late start didn’t prevent Garfield from establishing a winning tone.
The success of the Garfield Bulldogs is mainly due to their magnificent defense which forced a total of six punts. Whenever Davis tried to score, Garfield resisted strongly.
Garfield remained consistent on their defense game not allowing many catches and added a safety of their own. Davis’ defense didn’t prove to be effective against Garfield running backs, who had their way with them throughout the day.
Garfield scored seven points in the first half as Davis was forced to three-and-outs. As the second half begun nothing was able to stop Garfield, they were completely dominating the game. They scored 51 points in the second half, an impressive stat. Out of 51 points, 37 were scored in the third quarter and 14 in the fourth.
During the whole game, Davis was seen stumbling, and maybe it was the pressure that led to their fall. They were not able to have receive any punts or kick-offs besides the opening of the half. Their performance was disappointing and at no point did it feel that they were going to come back into the game.
Garfield won by 58-0, pushing them to a 3-0 record on the season. The Bulldogs are going to face Ballard in Metro League Game on Friday at Memorial Stadium.
