Enormous performance by ‘Terry Touchdown’ in New Mexico’s win

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — Earning the nickname ‘Terry Touchdown,’ Terry Wilson, the new quarterback for the New Mexico Lobos, fast exceeds expectations. The head coach of the team, Danny Gonzales, had words of praise for one of the team’s newest members in his remarks after the first victory against Houston Baptist in the first game of the season.

“I really like Terry’s demeanor on the sidelines, his demeanor with the offense,” Gonzales said. “We will get better on the upfront, and you will see him get better also.”

When questioned about Terry Wilson’s settling into the team, he stated clearly what the expectation was.

“He is like everybody else,” Gonzales added. “I mean, it was his first time in this stadium, the first time he’s played since last year, and he made a couple, missed a couple. Like everything else, they’d be massive improvement between week one and week two.”

Just as the head coach predicted, we saw a stellar performance from ‘Terry Touchdown’ in the fierce rivalry game against the New Mexico State team.

He kicked off the game to a fine start after executing a brilliant play by forcing a foul from the opposing team just a few minutes into the first quarter. Wilson supplied the first sublime throw of the game upfield, drawing the first foul of the game. This foul eventually led to the first touchdown of the game from Bobby Cole.

With the game tightly contested at 27-25 to the favor of New Mexico in an intense rivalry game, Wilson produced another excellent throw pass to Bobby Cole for the final touchdown that sealed the victory for the New Mexico Lobos — earning them their second straight win for the first time in 16 years.

This touchdown pass was his third touchdown pass in the game.

This outstanding performance from Terry Touchdown earned him the award of the offensive player of the week with 381 yards 27 of 38 passing

The head coach also gave an insight into the quality of Terry’s play.

“I think Terry’s got a chance to be pretty special.”

He went on to compare him with Donald Sellers, and rightly so. Terry is making waves for this team on all fronts and is on track to be as special as his head coach suggested after the Houston game.

His transfer to the team in the offseason and his subsequent naming as the team’s starting quarterback is proving to be a match made in heaven for the Lobos.

After the game against New Mexico’s, head coach had praise for his new quarterback.

“Besides the production he’s done on the field; it’s the attitude and leadership that he’s bringing over there on the sidelines that’s helping our football team,” Gonzales said “We are 2-0, and he’s a big part of it.”

This statement sums up the brilliant week of Terry Touchdown, who will be looking to build on his solid start in their next game against tough opposition, Texas A&M Aggies, who are also undefeated in the new season.
