Bronxville football fumbles big against Ardsley

BRONXVILLE, N.Y. –– The Bronxville Broncos lost to the Ardsley Panthers 28-6 on Friday night. The Panthers were led by senior running back Jack Phelan, who had 185 rushing yards and three touchdowns. The Panthers senior quarterback Michael Belarge had 43 total passing yards, including one touchdown pass to senior tight end Ryan Watson during the first quarter. The Panthers finished with 335 total yards of offense. The Panthers improved their record to 3-0 for the season.

The Broncos were led by senior running back Thomas Garofalo, who had 26 carries and 143 rushing yards. The Broncos scored their only touchdown in the fourth quarter, when senior quarterback Conor O’Neil reached the end zone on an 11-yard run. O’Neil had nine carries for 62 rushing yards. Senior Chris Kelty also had three receptions for a total of 47 yards. The Broncos struggled with turnovers, having two fumbles and one interception during the game.

This is the second straight loss for the Broncos, after starting the season with a 48-46 victory over the Pearl River Pirates. The Broncos record now drops to 1-2 for the season. The Broncos look to bounce back when they host the Westlake Wildcats next Saturday at 7:00 p.m.
