Centennial Knights winless no more, win in dominant fashion over the Chattahoochee Cougars
ROSWELL, Ga. — In a battle of 6A Region 7 opponents, the Centennial Knights earned their first victory of the season over the Chattahoochee Cougars in a Friday night football showdown.
After a scoreless first quarter, the Knights struck first on a huge run by sophomore running back Nathan Webster, taking advantage of a turnover by the Cougars, to make it 7-0.
However, late in the first half, sophomore quarterback Tyler Laskaris threw a costly interception that was returned for a score by Chattahoochee right before the half, cutting the lead to 7-6.
In the second half, it was all Centennial.
The Knights would score on the opening drive in the third quarter and continue to pile on for a 33-6 win.
Centennial shut out the Cougars in the second half and the defense surrendered no offensive touchdown the entire game.
Chattahoochee falls to 1-4 and will play host to Johns Creek next week, while Centennial, 1-4 as well, will travel to Cambridge next week.
