Webster women’s soccer bounces back, Gorloks dominate Eureka Red Devils 5-0

ST. LOUIS — It was all Gorloks on Wednesday night.

After snapping a brief losing skid on Monday, the Webster University women’s soccer team made a statement on Wednesday, rolling to a 5-0 victory over the Eureka (Ill.) College Red Devils. They’re now 3-2 in SLIAC play and 7-3 overall.

Mackenzie Sundhausen was the star of the game, recording an assist and scoring two goals.  Monday night’s hero, Jordan Lande, also recorded another goal, her team leading 11th of the year.

Emily Buchholz and Kaitlyn Theriot assisted Hope Dedic and Kelly Bowen on their goals. Bowen’s goal was her first of the season.

Taryn Banfield manned the goal for Webster, recording her third shutout of the season and recording a save in the process.

The Gorloks racked up 42 shots in the match, with 23 of them being on goal. Eureka tallied just two shots the entire match, one of them being on goal.

Webster also dominated the corners with eight. Eureka had just one.

The Gorloks are off for the next couple of days. They’ll travel to Greenville, Illinois for a match against Greenville University. The match gets underway at 7 p.m.
