Pinto World show champion is an 11-year-old aiming high in the equestrian world

JACKSON, Mich. —

Name: Page Conley
Age: 11 years old
Sport: Equestrian, Western and English
Year(s) In Sport: 5 years
Team: Dejonghe Show Horses

Paige is a sweet and kind girl who works hard, and follows the rules. She accomplished her goal this year when she won the Pinto World Championship Show in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Paige isn’t done yet though. Her next goal is to continue her skills as a rider in the next level and work her way back up to the world championships.

Miss Conley says her biggest challenge with riding right now is learning how to properly use her legs to lope. She is continuing to practice multiple times a week with her trainer. Paige’s motto is, “Don’t just dream for it, work for it.” Page has learned, from working within a team, that it isn’t always about the work. You have to have fun with the people around you too.

Paige’s horse, Paris, is 6 years old now, and she has had her for 4 years. “It has been a good experience,” Paige states, “ but it was hard at first. It took a lot of time and practice, but I never gave up because I knew that if I didn’t give up, I would be able to accomplish showing her.”

College is a long way off for Paige, but she would like to consider Findley and Albion Colleges. She would also like to continue riding in college too.

Outside of the equestrian world, Paige likes to hang out with her friends, play games and go out to dinner. Her favorite snacks are watermelon and cool ranch Doritos. She doesn’t really have a favorite song, but she does like Country music.
