P.J. Fuller returns to Seattle as part of Washington Huskies basketball
SEATTLE — Four players are returning home to finish with the Huskies, and P.J. Fuller, a former Seattle high school guard, is one of them. These four basketball players are coming back to Seattle, joining the University of Washington.
Fuller completed his first two years at Texas Christian University. He is a 6-foot-4 junior. For Texas Christian University, he scored 5.8 and 5.7 points per game. The Huskies lost three players to the transfer portal. Fuller kept looking where he could achieve more. He started 18 and eight games over his two seasons for the Big 12 Conference team. He arrived late compared to the other three because of academics and wanted to complete them before getting into the new school.
Though he’s well-travelled in terms of the number of teams he played for, every time Fuller has proved his worth as an outstanding player. In Seattle, he played for two different high schools as he played for Garfield and Nathan Hale. For his senior year, he transferred to Findlay Prep in Henderson, Nevada, brining his total number of high schools to three. Now he’s on his second college.
He has so much experience in basketball and adjusting to the changing environments. This is his most vital feature. Otherwise, in the case of other basketball players, there is always an effect on the player’s performance when he changes school or a place. Fuller knows how to adjust and has been extraordinary ever since. He also believes that when he changes school, he gets different coaches who have always taught him the best skills. He gives credit for his success to his coaches. In Garfield and Nathan Hale, former Husky and NBA standout Brandon Roy was his coach. At both schools Fuller won the state championship.
Fuller has been welcomed to the UW roster as a Division I player because of his extraordinary past performances and championships. His fellows from the Garfield are also joining the UW roster. He knows Daejon Davis from Stanford and Terrel Brown from Arizona. From Tacoma’s Wilson High School, Emmitt Mathews will be part of the roster. Fuller also knows him. They are going to build great chemistry during the game. This increases the credibility of their team.
The Huskies are going to start their practice within the first week of October. There will be an exhibition game on Nov. 4 in Central Washington. The team’s season opening game will be on Nov. 9.
