A&T University men’s basketball ready for first season in Big South Conference

GREENSBORO, N.C. — After the exciting announcement that A&T University would be moving from MEAC to the Big South last February, college sports fans were curious about the impact in their new conference. Particularly in sports such as Track and Field, where A&T ranks highly. However, one sport that A&T has already impacted in the early NCAA preseason is men’s basketball. The Aggies finished their final MEAC season strongly with an 11-10 record, matched by a three-game winning streak and the best record in the MEAC South.

With their arrival into the Big South, the Aggies continued their success this preseason and have made an early statement that they will be a leading contender when the regular season starts. A&T’s program went right to work by earning the third-ranked preseason poll in the Big South North Division, just behind a solid Longwood University team.

The Aggies men’s team also had several great individual performances this preseason. Graduate Student Cameron Langley earned Big South preseason second-team honors. Langley finished his last MEAC season as one of the best defenders in the MEAC, who also put in some incredible double-doubles and triple-doubles into the stat sheet last season. This preseason, he continued this success and has made the Aggies into an exciting team to follow this college basketball season.

The Aggies will open their regular season against UNC Greensboro on November 9th.
