Friday night five: OSSAA football top 5 performances in Week 8

HARRAH, Okla. (BVM) — There are three weeks left of the Oklahoma High School football season. With playoff spots on the line, some big performances were needed out of the team’s best players. Here are the top five from this past week.

  1. Jakeb Snyder, Bixby Jr. RB/DB, Bixby High School

In a game against Muskogee and after an early injury to Braylen Presley, Snyder stepped up. He had three interceptions and three tackles in the first half. The Spartans would go on to win their 44th consecutive game.

  1. Jayson Smith, Sr. RB, Del City High School

In an overtime thriller, Del City came out on top over Deer Creek and Smith willed Del City to victory. Smith rushed the ball 20 times and finished 123 rushing yards and three touchdowns. Eighty of those yards came in the first half.

  1. Cameron Jackson, Jr. RB, Tonkawa High School

Led by Jackson, the Tonkawa Buccaneers won their sixth straight game. Against Hinton, Jackson rushed 19 times for 251 yards and three TDs.

  1. Maurion Horn, Sr. RB, Broken Arrow High School

It was a nail biter between the Tigers and Wolves, but Horn wouldn’t let the Tigers fall. Horn carried the ball 29 times for 215 yards and two TDs. One of his scores came with 1:07 left in the game.

  1. Nick Moore, Sr. RB, Harrah High School

Coming off a win against Ada High School, the Harrah Panthers were looking for another win. Moore would help the Panthers do just that. Against Tecumseh, Moore rushed 28 times for 327 yards and had two TDs in the win.
