Trinity Presbyterian girls volleyball captures Class 3A crown with unique rivalry

MONTGOMERY, Ala. — Trinity Presbyterian School’s volleyball team has won back-to-back state championships. In an all Montgomery final Trinity beat Montgomery Catholic Preparatory School three sets to one. Catholic and Trinity split their six meetings during the regular season.

Trinity is coached by Sarah Dubberly and Catholic is coached by her husband Sellers Dubberly. Not only did this game pit husband and wife against each other but it also pits two area rivals against each other. This is the first time there has ever been an all Montgomery state championship match. Setter Addison Cherry received the MVP award for the second year in a row.
