Christian Doty of Ooltewah HS to be honored at 33rd annual Ruby Hurley Image Awards

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. — NAACP Chattanooga chapter announced that Christian Doty will be this year’s recipient of the Reggie White Male Athlete of The Year Awards at the 33rd Annual Ruby Hurley Image Awards!

Christian is the son of Brad and Amanda Doty.  He is a Senior at Ooltewah High School.  His story is one of tenacity, determination, and perseverance.

He was diagnosed with Dyslexia,  Dyscalculia, and ADD at the age of 5. With the help of his parents, the patience of a great tutor and support from some special teachers and coaches, he was able to navigate and find his way to be academically successful.

He also found his passion in Sports. This year he placed 3rd in the region for Decathlon and 4th place in the State Decathlon.  He also broke the school triple jump record in 2021.  Christian’s interests include, music, sports, and being a fierce protector of his 4 sisters.  He has had offers from several schools for track and Football. His parents are extremely grateful to everyone that is playing a part in his success.
