Hilinski’s Hope Foundation, in memory of Washington State QB, encourages talks on mental health
MONTGOMERY, Ala. — Saint James School welcomed Mark and Kim Hilinski to campus to share the story of their son Tyler the student-athletes and their parents. Mark and Kim are the founders of Hilinski’s Hope Foundation, whose mission is to break down the stigma of mental health and offer quality resources for support.
Tyler Hilinski was a Division I athlete who suffered from depression and was struggling with the pressures of being a collegiate athlete. He never shared these feelings with his family. Tragically he took his own life. Their message is one of hope and encourages students to talk about their feelings and stressors and to reach out and take advantage of resources available to them.
This event was sponsored by The Hughston Clinic. Saint James School uses events such as this one to shine a light on the importance of mental health and mental health resources.
