Austin Adcock continues to lead the Dacula Falcons

DACULA, Ga. — The Dacula High School football team has been on a roll, as the Falcons have a 6-3 record and have won all five of their games in the Region 8-AAAAAAA level. The team will be competing for the region championship against Buford, who has an 8-1 record and has also won its five region games.

Part of what is making the Dacula Falcons a prominent team comes from the play of senior quarterback Austin Adcock. He continues to be the team’s main passing threat, but he has also been essential to the club’s running game. This point can be seen in the Falcons’ 42-0 victory over Central Gwinnett.

Adcock produced three of the Falcons’ touchdowns in their shutout win over Central Gwinnett. He had touchdown passes to Amani Ephraim and Festus Davies, and he also had a 10-yard touchdown run during the game.

Adcock completed all but one of his ten passes during the game, totaling 127 yards. Three of his passes went to Moussa Barry, who had 72 receiving yards.

Adcock was only necessary for a portion of the game, as he and many of the other starters for the team sat out the fourth quarter as the Falcons were on a roll. The only significant moment for the Falcons after that was when Matthew Haber returned a fumble 20 yards for a touchdown to finish the overall scoring.

The victory over Central Gwinnett is one of many prominent victories that Adcock has supported this year. The Falcons also had a 23-7 victory over Shiloh and a 40-15 win over Winder-Barrow. The Falcons also defeated Lanier 54-26, with the Falcons scoring all 54 of their points in the first half of that game.

The Falcons’ three losses came from some of the better teams in the region, including Mill Creek and Brookwood. The Falcons lost by a field goal to Mountain View earlier this year, with the Falcons falling short 24-21 in that match.

Adcock and the rest of the Dacula Falcons are looking forward to seeing where they will go for the rest of the 2021 season. The team has great hopes for reaching the playoffs. But the Buford Wolves will be a challenging team for the club to watch. The Wolves are 8-1 and have given up only two points in their last five games, including a 58-0 win over Habersham Central and a 56-0 victory against Lanier.
