Carlos Keverene Singleton is leading Liberty County football

HINESVILLE, Ga. — The Liberty County Panthers high school football team had the best record in Georgia’s AAA Region 3. The team went 5-1 against Region 3 clubs, plus the Panthers had a 5-3 record. The club won their last three games, finishing with a 32-26 victory over Beach and shutout wins over Savannah and Groves to finish the year well.

One of the top figures to watch for on the Panthers has been the team’s sophomore quarterback Carlos Keverene Singleton. He has been a powerful figure for the Panthers, as he has been both an active passer and a prominent rusher for the team.

Keverene Singleton averages more than ten passing attempts in each game for the Panthers. In seven games, he has a 40-79 record with 648 passing yards. He also has five touchdowns versus three interceptions. He has four targets with at least a hundred receiving yards this season.

Junior James Summersett leads the Panthers with 177 yards and two touchdowns. He also had a 57-yard reception that remains the team’s longest this season. Junior Tre Foster also has two receiving touchdowns.

From the ground, Keverene Singleton had 157 yards on 24 carries. He also has one rushing touchdown. He remains the second-most active runner on the team, with senior Marques Johnson running for 645 yards and six touchdowns.

His performance has helped develop the Liberty County Panthers into one of the top teams in the Savannah region. The team had the best record in the AAA 3 Region, although second-place Southeast Bulloch had an 8-1 overall record.

The Panthers were able to recover from a rough start early in the season. They lost their two non-region games to begin the year, as they scored a combined total of 12 points against Baldwin and Statesboro. But the Panthers would get on a roll with a 22-20 win over Johnson and a 28-20 victory against Southeast Bulloch, giving the Yellow Jackets their only loss of the season. The Panthers lost 12-6 to Windsor Forest, but they had consecutive shutouts against Savannah and Groves before their final victory over Beach.

Keverene Singleton had proven himself as a talented quarterback and leader on the field for the Liberty County Panthers. High school football fans in the Hinesville area will be looking forward to seeing what he will do next and where he will go in his work with the club.
