Elevate Gymnastics Academy focuses on benefits of the sport on the youth

ELK GROVE, Calif. — What do kids of all ages like to do the most? HAVE FUN! What do parents worry about the most? Their kids’ health. Gymnastics is a unique way to do both, and any age can do it.

At Elevate Gymnastics Academy our program starts with kids as early as when they first start walking. This is our Parent Participation program, which allows parents to be a part of their child’s early development. But what sets us apart from other learning programs is that kids get to learn while running, jumping, playing, flying, and climbing. We make learning fun and exciting. Both our gymnastics and Ninja classes challenge kids and are extremely popular. I recently asked some of our athletes why they liked coming to EGA, and it was interesting to hear their answers.

“I love coming here, and I always look forward to it every week. It’s the best time of my life. It’s everything I like to do all wrapped into one”, said 10-year-old yellow Ninja athlete, Lincoln.

Kids need to move to stay healthy and physically fit, but let’s not forget about the mental benefits of gymnastics and our Ninja program. An activity like this increases endorphins in developing brains, which can lead to happier and more positive kids. Kelsey, one of our level 10 boys who also coaches for us, said he loves the adrenaline rush that he gets when trying new skills. Preston, our 15-year-old Junior Elite athlete, says he likes the feeling of flying, and 15-year-old Cara says she likes the feeling of throwing herself in the air. Keep in mind, all these athletes just mentioned train an average of 25 hours per week. We can all agree, to train that much, it must be FUN!

Discovering activities that are both good for our kids and fun can be challenging. Trust me, I know. As a mom of two kids (my daughter, who is now 19 and coaches at EGA, and my son, who is 15 and a level 9 gymnast), I am happy to say that they have grown up in gymnastics. They are both happy, intelligent, and love staying active.

At EGA, our coaches are proud to have watched numerous kids grow up and move on to college. But the best comment I received is from Cara: “It’s very fun here, but I also like the fact that I have another family.”
