Newman Catholic wins program’s first WIAA State 8-Player Football Championship
WISCONSIN RAPIDS, Wis. — The Newman Catholic eight-player football team brought home a state title with a resounding 49-6 win over Luck in the championship game on Saturday, November 13.
Quarterback Conner Krach accounted for five total touchdowns in the first half of the game, pushing the Cardinals out to a 42-6 lead at halftime.
Newman Catholic lost in the state title game in 2019 against Luck, making this year’s victory their first title in two appearances.
