Six Mars Area HS boys and girls sign their NLI to play college lacrosse

MARS, Pa. — Six Mars Area High School seniors (Class of 2022) have signed letters of intent to continue their lacrosse careers at the college level:

Austin Cote, 17, son of Justin and Rachelle Cote of Mars, signed a letter of intent to join the Greyhounds Men’s Lacrosse Team at the Loyola University Maryland (Baltimore, Md.), where he plans to major in business.

Cote is a four-year member of Mars Area High School Boys Varsity Lacrosse Team, which, in 2021, earned the WPIAL Class 2A Boys Varsity Lacrosse Championship, the team’s fifth consecutive; and advanced to the final game of the PIAA Class 2A Boys Varsity Lacrosse Championships. He is also a four-year member of Mars Area High School Boys Varsity Basketball Team that won the 2018 and 2019 WPIAL Titles. At Mars Area High School, Cote is a member of German Club. In the community, he works at Treesdale Country Club.

Kellen Fletcher, 18, daughter of Todd and Vicky Fletcher of Valencia, signed a letter of intent to join the Zips Women’s Lacrosse Team at the University of Akron (Ohio), where she plans to major in communications.

Fletcher is a four-year member of Mars Area High School Girls Varsity Lacrosse Team, which earned the 2021 WPIAL Class 2A Girls Varsity Lacrosse Championship Title. She is also a four-year member of the Mars Area High School Diving Team. At Mars Area High School, she is a member of Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA), German Club, and German National Honor Society. In the community, she volunteers with Mars Youth Lacrosse.

Quinn Fuller, 17, son of Todd and Sally Fuller of Mars, signed a letter of intent to join the Dolphins Men’s Lacrosse Team at the Jacksonville University (Fla.), where he plans to major in management and minor in sports business.

Fuller is a four-year member of Mars Area High School Boys Varsity Lacrosse Team, which, in 2021, earned the WPIAL Class 2A Boys Varsity Lacrosse Championship, the team’s fifth consecutive; and advanced to the final game of the PIAA Class 2A Boys Varsity Lacrosse Championships. During his freshmen, sophomore and junior years, he was also a member of Mars Area High School Boys Varsity Football Team. In the community, he volunteers with Mars Youth Lacrosse.

Wesley Scurci, 18, son of William and Susan Scurci of Mars, signed a letter of intent to join the Lions Men’s Lacrosse Team at the Lindenwood University (Saint Charles, Mo.), where he plans to major in business.

Scurci is a four-year member of Mars Area High School Boys Varsity Lacrosse Team, which, in 2021, earned the WPIAL Class 2A Boys Varsity Lacrosse Championship, the team’s fifth consecutive; and advanced to the final game of the PIAA Class 2A Boys Varsity Lacrosse Championships. He was named the 2021 Post-Gazette Boys Lacrosse Player of the Year and a U.S. Lacrosse All-American. At Mars Area High School, Scurci is also a four-year member of the Boys Varsity Hockley Team and a two-year member of the Boys Varsity Golf Team. He is a member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA), Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA), German Club, and German National Honor Society. In the community, he volunteers with The Emily Program, Inspired Hearts & Hands, and Mars Youth Lacrosse.

Josh Seipp, 18, son of Thomas and Marybeth Seipp of Mars, signed a letter of intent to join the Knights Men’s Lacrosse Team at the Bellarmine University (Louisville, Ky.), where he plans to major in finance.

Seipp is a four-year member of Mars Area High School Boys Varsity Lacrosse Team, which, in 2021, earned the WPIAL Class 2A Boys Varsity Lacrosse Championship, the team’s fifth consecutive; and advanced to the final game of the PIAA Class 2A Boys Varsity Lacrosse Championships. At Mars Area High School, he participates in the Financial Literacy program.

Lydia Toparli, 17, daughter of Sandra Toparli of Gibsonia, signed a letter of intent to join the Dukes Women’s Lacrosse Team at the Duquesne University (Pittsburgh), where she plans to major in finance.

Toparli is a four-year member of Mars Area High School Girls Varsity Lacrosse Team, which earned the 2021 WPIAL Class 2A Girls Varsity Lacrosse Championship Title. She also played soccer through middle school. At Mars Area High School, she is also a member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA). In the community, she volunteers with Mars Youth Lacrosse and works at Aviva Brick Oven.
