James Glenn nominated for 2020-21 winter Coach of the Year

TWIN FALLS, Idaho. — James Glenn was appointed as the head coach of the Twin Falls Bruins basketball team on June 17, 2020. Before he started serving as the head coach, Glenn had been an assistant for five years where he worked under coach Matt Harr.

“My passion is and have always been coaching basketball,” he said. “(It’s been) an addiction of mine for 24 years and counting.”

Glenn gained the experience of 20 years of coaching in North Carolina. His coaching experience was at Reagan High School, as well as the Delaney Rudd Basketball Academy. In addition to that, he served as the 7th grade basketball coach at Robert Stuart Middle School, as well as the varsity assistant head coach at Canyon Ridge High School.

His abilities took him farther than being a high school basketball coach. His amazing skills got him the chance to build and develop NCAA Division I basketball players, as well as the opportunity to coach them, not only in the United States but also overseas.

Glenn showed his gratitude for being chosen as the head basketball coach to Twin Falls Bruins, which has been his dream and passion.

“I would like to thank first and foremost, Twin Falls High School for selecting me for the position as head coach,” he said. “It is an honor and a privilege to represent such a well-built program that has a great tradition of winning.”

His promotion to the head coach position was welcomed with open arms. Nancy Jones, the activities director at Twin Falls High School, spoke highly of Glenn.

“I know James will bring enthusiasm, energy and high expectations to this position,” Jones said. “He has a winning attitude and passion for the game that he will share with the players as our new head coach.”

Given that it’s his first season as the head varsity coach for the Twin Falls Bruins, Glenn has performed quite well with the team. However, there is still a lot of room for improvement and growth.

The school board has faith in coach Glenn, just like Jones said.

“I have no doubt he will continue the winning tradition of this program,” she added.

Recently, the Idaho 4th District Coaches Association nominated Coach Glenn for the 2020-21 winter Coach of the Year ballot. The nomination is under 4-A boys basketball. Will Coach Glenn win or not? That is yet to be decided. However, the trend suggests that his past dictates his win!
