NTX Warriors baseball player Asher Lacy succeeds on and off the field

LUCAS, Texas — He started playing t-ball when he was six years old and still loves the sport. Asher Lacy is a freshman at Lovejoy High School who plays majors-level baseball for the NTX Warriors. When he is not playing baseball, he loves to watch Major League Baseball. While he likes the Texas Rangers baseball team, he also enjoys lots of other teams.

With ten years of team play under his belt, Asher has learned that being part of a team means, “You can’t do everything completely on your own. It’s important to learn how to work with others.” While he greatly enjoys playing on a team, there are times when things can be challenging, and frustration can creep in. It is in these times when he knows the best way to handle the situation is to focus on “Staying mentally strong because baseball is a game of failure. The best thing to overcome these times is to stay relaxed and focus on what I can control.”

Asher has received accolades for his strong play on the field, including multiple Player of the Game awards, as well as a Most Valuable Player (MVP) award from a tournament. Off the field, he is succeeding as well. He is a member of the National Junior Honor Society, as well as having made the “A” Honor Roll in both 7th and 8th Grades.

When he is not playing ball, Asher is rather laid-back and enjoys hanging out with his friends, being outdoors, and watching sports.
