Park VB’s Nada Meawad earns 5th First Team All-American honors

PARKVILLE, Mo. — After leading Park University to an impressive second-place finish in the NAIA Women’s Volleyball National Championship, senior Nada Meawad was named to the 2021 NAIA Women’s Volleyball All-American list for an unprecedented fifth time. NAIA and NCAA student-athletes were granted a “super senior” extra year to play due to COVID-19.

Meawad also was named the 2021 Player of the Year and Attacker of the Year. It is the third time she has been selected as the NAIA Player of the Year (2018 and 2020). Nada also competed in the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro as a member of Egypt’s women’s beach volleyball duo.

Nada’s twin sister, Noura, was named to the NAIA All-America second team.

In addition to the players’ accolades, Park University Head Coach Mike Talamantes was selected as the 2021 NAIA Coach of the Year after leading the Pirates to an impressive 34-3 record and runner-up finish at the NAIA national tournament in December.
