Kyle Riemenschneider: From team manager to player at Florida Gulf Coast University
FORT MYERS, Fla. — Former Fort Myers High School standout, Kyle Riemenschneider, joined the Florida Gulf Coast University (FGCU) as the team manager and soon earned himself a spot back on the court!
After he played at Fort Myers High School, Kyle planned to take an offer to play at a Northern school but the pandemic changed his plans. He decided to stay home, enroll at FGCU and help out the Eagles behind the bench as team manager.
As team manager, Kyle said he would help players rebound during practice, get water, and do anything he could to help the team.
From there he earned the respect of the players and the coaches. Once a walk-on spot was available head Coach Michael Fly knew who had earned it: Kyle.
Kyle said he worked his butt off as manager and now he is reaping the benefits on the court.
Kudos, Kyle! We are excited to see what your future holds!
