Q&A with Columbine HS football player Seth Cromwell
LITTLETON, Colo. — Seth Cromwell is a Senior and a remarkable athlete on the football team at Columbine High School. I had the privilege of interviewing him to get to know more about him and his experience on the team.
What sports do you play at Columbine?
Seth Cromwell: Football, wrestling, and track. I play running back and middle linebacker on the football team.
Tell me a little about yourself and your family.
Cromwell: We are a “sports family.” I also have a 12-year old brother who plays football. Outside of sports, I spend most of the rest of my time studying for school.
What are some highlights from your football season this year?
Cromwell: One of the major highlights was going to the first round of the 5A playoffs against Montbello. I was just coming off an injury but still able to score a touchdown. The game was a blowout (56-0) and the team had a great and inspiring performance.
What do you like best about your team?
Cromwell: The team is a group of very hard workers. Everyone works hard on every team level. It is a really great environment to be in.
As a senior on the team, what leadership do you provide for the other players?
Cromwell: I’ve always kept a straight face and I don’t let myself get down, no matter the situation on the field. I maintain an attitude that provides leadership to the team.
What are some of the life lessons you’ve learned from football or sports in general?
Cromwell: Even when you are down, you are not out. You can always overcome and come back and win. Another life lesson is that practice makes perfect. Practicing is not easy, and not always fun, but it will lead to success.
What piece of advice would you give for new members of the team?
Cromwell: It is not going to be easy. Just keep working through it to improve. Instead of asking why things are hard, just keep working and you will get better.
