Jackson Polar Bears’ Niko Paxos signs with Akron football
MASSILLON, Ohio — Niko Paxos has signed to the University of Akron (D1) so that he can continue his football career. A 1st Team All-Ohio player, Niko had an impressive senior season as both the starting placekicker and punter for the Jackson Polar Bears. He converted all 46 extra points, made eight field goals, and had 50 touchbacks out of 68 kickoffs. Most impressively, four of his field goals were over 40 yards. As a punter, Niko averaged over 41 yards per attempt.
Niko has had an impressive high school career as a three-year letter winner. In addition to state honors, he was 1st Team All-Federal League and 1st Team Northeast Inland District. Niko was also chosen as a member of the prestigious WHBC All-County Team.
