LAPEER, Mich. — Lapeer Lightning Wrestling Team had 5 qualifiers for Regional Playoffs. Austen Murphy weighing in at 140 pounds, Matthew Bollman weighing in at 215 pounds, Ashton Light weighing in at 145 pounds, Izayah Richards weighing in at 112 pounds, and Colton Turk weighing in at 285 pounds.
Another proud moment…for the first time this season, the Lightning Wrestlers represented in the Michigan Grappler State Rankings. Austen Murphy placed 15th, Ashton Light placed 9th, Matthew Bollman placed 7th, and Colton Turk placed 14th. Izayah Richards is in also and all competed at Midland Dow, gunning for the state tournament.
Ashton Light, the 145 pound wrestler just recently signed with Saint Clair County Community College to continue his wrestling career in the 157 pound weight class. Not only is he planning on continuing to dominate in wrestling, his plan is to study Criminal Justice. Can’t wait to see what you do with your future!
