Ryle wrestler, Chattanooga commit Cole Thomas becomes a 4-time state champion
UNION, Ky. — Cole Thomas, a senior at Larry A. Ryle High School, became only the 10th wrestler in Kentucky history, 3rd from the Northern Kentucky area, to become a 4X State Champion!
For his achievements, Cole was presented the state tournaments Most Outstanding Wrestler award.
An accomplished career, spanning 14 years, that started with the Raider youth wrestling program, was topped off by completing his 4 years at Ryle undefeated against all Kentucky opponents.
Other accolades include:
- Ryle’s only 4X high school state champion.
- 5-time high school state placer (finishing 3rd as an 8th grader)
- 2nd in career wins at Ryle with over 221 victories.
- Nationally, Cole has competed all over the United States and has won multiple All-American awards and honors.
Cole’s future plans after high school include attending college on an athletic and academic scholarship to wrestle for Division 1 University of Tennessee Chattanooga.
