Glenbard West wins basketball state championship for first time in program history
GLEN ELLYN, Ill. — The Glenbard West boys basketball team are state champions for the first time in the basketball program’s 100-year-plus history. After a record-breaking year with only one loss in the regular season, head coach Jason Opoka led seniors Ryan Renfro, Braden Huff, Paxton Warden, Caden Pierce and Bobby Durkin to the finals in Champaign. The Hilltoppers beat Whitney Young 56-34 for the title.
